Through its innovation and resourcefulness, the Program
Executive Officer (PEO) for Aircraft Carriers is
responsible for designing, delivering and maintaining the
nation’s aircraft carrier force in support the Chief
of Naval Operation’s “Sea Power 21” concept
and his 313 ship Navy to meet requirements set by the fleet.
We are involved in all aspects of life cycle management from
conception through decommissioning including the acquisition
and development of our nation’s future aircraft carriers,
as well as modernizing and upgrading the present carrier fleet.
The Navy, partnered with Northrop Grumman Newport News, builds
nuclear powered warships that are preeminent in all scenarios
of future combat and national defense. We are the hub of a
world-class, extended, and continuously evolving carrier enterprise
that is recognized for being as innovative in the way it works
and manages its people as it is in delivering the world’s
most powerful, yet affordable weapons system on schedule,
and mission ready. We accomplish this through an alignment
that enhances collaboration by improving communication and
cooperation. We will lead our organizations through the 21st
century with a strong sense of purpose and clearly focused
goals in defense of democracy and freedom.
