Cooperative Education Opportunities
Three of the Cooperative Education opportunities that are offered at
the Northrop Grumman Newport News sector are: Engineering Co-op, Supply
Chain Management Co-op and Business Management Co-op.
Why Co-op?

- To combine classroom theory with practical knowledge
Co-op Requirements
- Assignments are based on a candidate’s goals and the departments
needs
- Must be able to obtain a Department of Defense Confidential Clearance
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Must pass physical, drug screen and background check
- At least a 3.0 GPA ( based on a 4.0 scale)
- Completion of sophomore year ( Business Management co-ops), completion
of freshman year ( Engineering co-ops and Supply Chain Management co-ops)
- Engineering and Supply Chain Management co-ops must commit to 3 work
terms.
- Engineering co-ops must be enrolled in an ABET accredited baccalaureate
engineering program
Work Terms (Engineering and Supply Chain Management)
- Fall Term – Late August through December
- Spring Term – January through April
- Summer Term – May through August
- 40 hours per week
Work Terms (Business Management)
- A two year educational program
- Six month work terms
- 20 hours per week
