VEASEY WILSON JOINS NEWPORT NEWS SHIPBUILDING AS
DIRECTOR OF SOURCING
NEWPORT NEWS, Va.,-- October 29, 1997 – Veasey W. Wilson has
been appointed director of Sourcing for Commercial Programs, Facilities
and Services at Newport News Shipbuilding (NYSE: NNS), America’s
largest ship design and construction company. In this position, he is
responsible for acquisition of materials and services in support of
all commercial shipbuilding and repair activities and also for all capital
equipment, maintenance and business service purchases.
Mr. Wilson was formerly employed by Allied Signal as the director
of Materials for their Commercial Avionics Systems Business Unit headquartered
in Olathe, Kansas. Prior to joining Allied Signal, he held a series
of increasingly responsible positions at Digital Equipment and Westinghouse
Corporation.
Wilson holds a bachelor’s degree from Virginia State University in
Petersburg and a master’s degree in business management from Central
Michigan University.
