NEWPORT NEWS, Va., June 14, 1999 – Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) and Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) today announced a formal agreement on their worldwide business partnership, AMSEC LLC. This new company will offer a wide range of fleet services to the U.S. Navy from more than 20 locations. The formation of the partnership was announced March 3, 1999.

Albero, CEO and Chairman of AMSEC, said, "The combination of Newport News’ Integrated Logistics Support capability with AMSEC’s total ship systems engineering and technical services will enable AMSEC LLC to provide the U.S. Navy with the most cost-effective, full service, platform life cycle support organization found anywhere."
