Celebrity Zenith Arrives at Newport News Shipbuilding

NEWPORT NEWS, Va., October 20, 1999 – Today, Newport News Shipbuilding (NYSE: NNS) announced the arrival of the cruise ship Zenith for its bi-annual drydocking. The ship arrived at Newport News Shipbuilding on October 18.

Owned and operated by Celebrity Cruise Lines based in Miami, Fla., the Zenith is in dry dock at the company for work to include hull painting, survey and repairs as necessary for the propulsions system, sea valves, thrusters, stabilizers and hull anodes.

The 47,255-ton ship, which is 682 feet long and 95 feet wide has been in service since 1992 and has never docked anywhere but NNS since that time. Zenith's basic routes include Alaska, the Trans-canal, Bermuda, the Caribbean and Europe.
