CELEBRITY CRUISES' MILLENNIUM
ARRIVES AT NEWPORT NEWS SHIPBUILDING
NEWPORT NEWS, Va., April 3, 2001 – Newport News
Shipbuilding (NYSE: NNS) announced that the cruise
ship Millennium arrived at the company today
for a 10-day period of work. Work being performed will
include repairs to an under-performing electric motor
that operates one of the ship’s two propulsion units
and maintenance to various ship systems.

Celebrity Cruise Lines' Millennium

Owned and operated by Celebrity Cruises based in Miami,
Florida, Millennium joined the Celebrity fleet
in June 2000, and is the first cruise ship in the world
to employ smokeless gas turbines as the primary source
of propulsion power. The 91,000-ton ship, which is 965
feet long and 106 feet wide, carries 1,950 passengers.
Since 1992, NNS has enjoyed an excellent
relationship with Celebrity Cruises. The Celebrity ships,
Zenith and Horizon, which sail the Caribbean,
have docked exclusively at NNS since they have been in
service.
