NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Oct. 7, 2002 – Northrop
Grumman Corporation's (NYSE: NOC) Newport News sector announced the
appointment of Becky Stewart as program director, Surface Ship and
Submarine Fleet Maintenance. Stewart is responsible for all aspects
of naval and commercial surface ship and submarine fleet maintenance
from pre-contract through delivery.
"Combining our Ship Repair and Submarine
Fleet Maintenance businesses, under the leadership of Becky, will
maximize both our flexibility and responsiveness to our
customers," said Tom Schievelbein, Northrop Grumman corporate
vice president and president of its Newport News sector.
Prior to this appointment, Stewart served as
program director, Ship Repair. Beginning her career at Newport News
in 1982 as a technical planner, she has held a number of positions
to include manager, Strategic Planning; manager, Computer
Administration and Control; and manager, Systems Development and
Customer Service. She has also served as director, Life Cycle
Engineering.
Stewart earned a bachelor's degree in business
administration from Christopher Newport University and an MBA from
the College of William and Mary.
