Grumman Corporation's (NYSE: NOC) Newport News sector has received
the 2002 Industrial Water Quality Award from the Virginia Water
Environment Association (VWEA). The sector was honored for its
exemplary environmental compliance record and demonstrated
commitment to environmental excellence. Newport News was the sole
recipient selected out of 15 nominations across the state.
The award recognizes a Virginia industry that
displays outstanding achievements in the area of wastewater
treatment and water quality, emphasizing environmental protection
and enhancement. The award is presented to the industry that best
exemplifies the goals of VWEA – protection of the environment,
technical excellence, and service to the community.
