NEWPORT NEWS, Va., December 16, 2002 – Northrop Grumman
Newport News and the United Steelworkers of America (Local 8888)
will hold a dedication ceremony on Wednesday, December 18 at 4:30
p.m. for the house they built for the Peninsula Habitat for
Humanity. Volunteer shipbuilders from Northrop Grumman Newport News
constructed the house, which has been named "Labor Management
House."
News media are invited to cover the ceremony. The builders of the
house, representatives from Northrop Grumman Newport News, the
Union, Habitat for Humanity, and the Newport News Redevelopment and
Housing Authority will be in attendance, as well as the future
homeowner of the "Labor Management House."
The ceremony will be held at 234 Poplar
Avenue.
