Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) Departs for Sea Trials
The aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan
(CVN 76) is shown sailing by the Herbert H. Bateman Virginia
Advanced Shipbuilding and Carrier Integration Center on
Monday, May 5 as it leaves Northrop Grumman Newport News
for Builder's Trials. The nuclear-powered carrier is the
ninth Nimitz-class ship to be built by Northrop
Grumman Newport News.
The aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan
(CVN 76) leaves Northrop Grumman Newport News for Builder's
Trials on Monday, May 5, 2003. Builder's Trials are an important
milestone in the construction of the nuclear-powered carrier
as it is the first time the ship sails under its own power.
Reagan will be at sea for four days of testing.
