NEWPORT
NEWS, Va.— Mar. 8, 2004 – Northrop Grumman Corporation
(NYSE: NOC) announced that Bob Leber was appointed
director of Education and Workforce Development for
the Newport News sector. Leber’s responsibilities
include the Apprentice School, training services and
external workforce development initiatives.
Prior
to this appointment, Leber served as the manager of
Training Programs. He began his career with Newport
News in 1982 and has held a number of positions throughout
the organization, including manager of Production
Planning and Control, director of Facilities, director
of Ship Repair and manager of Human Resources.
A resident
of Carrollton, Leber has earned four college degrees
including bachelor’s degrees in engineering and liberal
arts and master’s degrees in business administration
and education and human development. He is currently
working on his doctorate in strategic leadership.
Leber serves
on the board of directors for Thomas Nelson Community
College's Peninsula Workforce Development Center,
the Newport News Educational Foundation and the Peninsula
Workforce Investment. He is also the vice chairman
for Junior Achievement of Greater Hampton Roads.
