Northrop Grumman Appoints John
Lamb
to Director in Process Excellence Organization
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Oct. 12, 2005
– Northrop Grumman Corporation’s (NYSE: NOC)
Newport News sector has promoted John Lamb to director
of electrical value stream for the process excellence
organization. In this new position, he will work with
all divisions and programs to identify process improvement
opportunities with regards to electrical components and
equipment design, installation and testing, and will initiate
and implement change and track performance results. He
reports to Jennifer Boykin, vice president of process
excellence at Northrop Grumman Newport News.
Prior to this appointment, Lamb served as
program manager for CVN 21 technology development in the
warfare systems and aviation support areas. He began his
career at Newport News in 1978 as a senior designer and
has held a number of positions of increasing responsibility,
including engineering test supervisor, waterfront engineering
manager, and program manager for the design and construction
of the Large Scale Vehicle (LSV2) test submarine program.
“John brings significant experience
and demonstrated leadership to this position,” said
Boykin. “His expertise in design, engineering and
program management will help us continue to drive down
cost and improve performance across all shipbuilding programs.”
Lamb has completed numerous management and
leadership training programs, including the executive
program manager's course at the Defense Systems Management
College. He resides in Suffolk, Va.
