Northrop Grumman Appoints Anthony
J. Gonzales to
Program Manager of Aircraft Carriers in San Diego
SAN DIEGO – Nov. 3, 2005 – Northrop
Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has appointed Anthony
J. Gonzales to program manager of the aircraft carrier
program in San Diego. Gonzales is responsible for continuous
maintenance of the aircraft carriers USS Nimitz
and USS Ronald Reagan. He is located at the North
Island Naval station and reports to Ben Robison, director
of the in-service carrier program for Northrop Grumman
Newport News.
“With proven leadership and extensive
Navy experience, Tony is a great addition to our West
Coast operations,” said Robison. “He brings
an abundance of knowledge to this position.”
Gonzales is a retired Navy captain with
over 36 years of service in nuclear carrier and submarine
operations and maintenance. He also served as chief engineer
for the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis.
Prior to joining Northrop Grumman Newport News, he served
as the commanding officer at Naval Base Point Loma, San
Diego.
Gonzales is also the recipient of a number
of professional honors including the Hispanic Engineer
National Achievement Award and the American Society of
Naval Engineering’s C.W. Burke Fleet Engineer of
the year. He resides in San Diego.
