Northrop Grumman's David Lambert
Honored with
Volunteer of the Year Award from the Hampton Roads Chamber
of Commerce
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Jan. 12, 2006
– Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has announced
that David Lambert, manager of business development at
the company’s Newport News sector, received the
2005 Volunteer of the Year award from the Hampton Roads
Chamber of Commerce for his distinguished service and
leadership.
The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, a
member-based business organization, uses this award to
recognize the volunteer who best demonstrates exceptional
commitment to the chamber. Lambert was presented the award
at the chamber’s 22nd annual meeting of the membership
in December at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott.
“Dave provided an extraordinary service
to the chamber, and because of his strong leadership,
we chose to recognize him as our Volunteer of the Year,”
said D. R. Carpenter, III, 2005 chair of the Hampton Roads
Chamber of Commerce.
Serving as manager of business development,
Lambert is responsible for advancing the Newport News
sector’s strategic growth in submarine and surface
ship fleet support. He joined the Newport News sector
in 1987 as a submarine test engineer and has held a number
of positions of increasing responsibility, including senior
engineer in the Virginia-class submarine program,
manager of corporate strategy and program support manager
in the fleet support division.
Lambert earned a bachelor’s degree
in mechanical engineering from West Virginia Institute
of Technology, a master’s of engineering management
from Old Dominion University and a doctorate of philosophy
in business administration from Old Dominion University.
A resident of Newport News, Lambert is active
in his community and currently serves on the board of
directors for several organizations, including the American
Red Cross of Southeastern Virginia, the Hampton Roads
Chamber of Commerce, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society
of Hampton Roads, the Old Dominion University Alumni Association
and the Virginia Opera.
