Northrop Grumman Promotes John Lilley and Peter Wong to Strategy Directors

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – March 6, 2006 – Northrop Grumman Corporation’s (NYSE:NOC) Newport News sector has announced two director-level appointments within its Newport News sector. John Lilley has been promoted to director of strategic planning and Peter Wong has been promoted to director of strategic development.

“These promotions are a clear reflection of the tremendous value John and Peter have provided and will continue to provide Newport News and Northrop Grumman. They will also play key roles in developing and mentoring shipyard leaders who will rotate through the strategy group in the coming years,” said Dan Arczynski, vice president of strategic planning and integration.

As director of strategic planning, Lilley will be responsible for producing the sector’s annual strategic plan, analyzing industrial base and defense policy issues and overseeing the development of strategic goals and commitments for the Newport News sector. He began his career with the sector in 1996 as operations manager in the aircraft carrier program and has held a number of positions of increasing responsibility including construction manager, USS Enterprise overhaul; director, aircraft carrier refueling and overhaul; and most recently, manager, strategic planning and integration.

Lilley earned a bachelor’s degree from the United States Military Academy and a master’s of public policy from Harvard University.

Wong began his career at Newport News in 1985 as a senior accountant and has held a number of positions of increasing responsibility including manager, treasury; manager, financial and capital planning; and most recently, manager of strategic planning and integration. In his new position, Wong will be responsible for developing business strategies and plans, assessing new business growth opportunities and analyzing market trends and competitive positions.

Wong holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Virginia, a master’s in chemical engineering from the University of Florida, and a master’s of business administration from Duke University.
