Northrop Grumman Receives Award
for
Support of Administrative Staff
NEWPORT NEWS – August 1, 2006 –
Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has received
an award from the International Association of Administrative
Professionals (IAAP) for its commitment to and continuous
support of its administrative staff.
Wayne Gowers, Northrop Grumman Newport News
chief administrator of sector services and travel management,
accepted the award on behalf of the sector. “We
are committed to working as a team to improve our processes
to meet our budget and schedule commitments,” he
said. “The administrative staff of the shipyard
is instrumental in moving the business steadily onward.”
The Virginia Division of the IAAP established
the award in 2004 to honor and express appreciation to
organizations that support IAAP programs and member participation.
Northrop Grumman was selected for encouraging and assisting
employees to improve their skills by offering financial
assistance to those enrolling in post-secondary education,
encouraging employees to participate in community service
and volunteer work, and by recognizing employees at major
milestones in their careers.
The International Association of Administrative
Professionals (IAAP) is a not-for-profit professional
association with approximately 40,000 members and affiliates
and nearly 600 chapters worldwide.
