Northrop Grumman Promotes Michael Reilley To Director in Nuclear Engineering and Test Division
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – September 20, 2007 – Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has promoted Michael Reilley to director of nuclear construction engineering, materials engineering and standardization for its Newport News sector. In his new position, Reilley will be responsible for providing engineering, design and material support for various aircraft carrier and submarine programs. He will also oversee the standardization of procedures within nuclear and test engineering. Reilley reports to Rolf Bartschi, vice president and chief nuclear engineer of waterfront nuclear engineering and test at Northrop Grumman Newport News. “Mike’s leadership and years of experience make him a key player to our nuclear program,” said Bartschi. “He will provide significant contributions to the continued success of the sector.” Prior to this appointment Reilley served as manager of propulsion plant construction engineering for the Gerald R. Ford-class aircraft carrier program. He began working at Newport News in 1984 as a nuclear engineer and has held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility including lead engineer, engineering supervisor and engineering manager. Reilley earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from West Virginia University and a master’s degree in engineering management from George Washington University. He currently resides in Hampton, Va.
