NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Oct. 9, 2007 –Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has announced that three employees, Gregory Dudley, Tomeka Leigh and Mary Perkinson have received the Top Forty Under 40 award for leadership, innovation, achievement in their careers and their dedication to the community.

Inside Business, a weekly business journal covering Hampton Roads, Va., started the Top Forty Under 40 award nine years ago as a way to recognize business professionals under 40 years of age for their community involvement. The winners were profiled in a special issue of Inside Business and honored at a banquet on Oct. 8 at the Norfolk Waterside Marriot.

Gregory Dudley joined Northrop Grumman’s Newport News sector in 1997 as a mechanical engineer and has held a number of engineering positions with increasing responsibility. He currently serves as an engineer supporting Nimitz-class aircraft carriers. He is active in the community by serving as the board chairman for the Cooperating Hampton Roads Organizations for Minorities in Engineering (CHROME), an organization that encourages students to pursue careers in engineering. He also coordinates an annual college and career fair for Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Tomeka Leigh has been employed with Northrop Grumman Newport News since 1995. She joined the sector as an apprentice and has held a variety of positions with increasing responsibility. She currently serves as a general foreman in the submarine division. Leigh volunteers in the community by working with her church, Calvary Seventh-Day Adventist Church, to aid in feeding the homeless, disaster relief and working with the deaf and hard-of-hearing.

Mary Perkinson began her career with Northrop Grumman Newport News four years ago. She is a mechanical engineer in the operations division, currently serving as a continuous improvement facilitator in the process excellence division. She chairs the partnership coordination taskforce of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) on the national level and serves as president for the Hampton Roads section of SWE. Perkinson volunteers through SWE by leading the executive council, supporting K-12 outreach programs, providing strategic and tactical planning for the organization, and serving as a mentor to aspiring engineers.
