NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – March 27, 2008 – Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) announced today that Jennifer Dellapenta has been appointed director of communications for its Newport News location of its Shipbuilding sector. She reports to Jerri Fuller Dickseski, sector vice president of communications for Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding.

Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding, a newly-formed sector of Northrop Grumman Corporation, is made up of the former Northrop Grumman Ship Systems and Newport News shipbuilding entities.

Dellapenta’s responsibilities include strategic communications planning, crisis communications and response, employee, executive and external communications, media relations, and special events for Newport News. She also serves as a sector spokeswoman and public information officer.

“Jennifer is well respected among all levels of employees at Newport News and has built a positive reputation with local and defense trade media,” Dickseski said. “She also has shown sound judgment in crisis communications and in managing multiple, highly visible and complex projects with challenging schedules.”

Since joining Northrop Grumman in 1997, Dellapenta has served in various communications functions of increasing responsibility. Her most recent position was manager of media relations where she led external communication activities and worked with local and defense news media. Her experience also includes successfully leading the external communications efforts of large-scale special events, such as ship christening ceremonies. Additionally, she has experience in providing crisis communications leadership; managing employee communication and recognition programs; and managing and developing internet and intranet sites. Dellapenta earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Christopher Newport University.
